RACHEL B. GOLDMAN is a partner at Grindle Robinson LLP. She has practiced law in Massachusetts for thirty years. Rachel specializes in collaborative family law, mediation, conciliation, and settlement negotiation. Her areas of practice include all aspects of divorce and family law, including alimony, child support, custody, parenting plans, division of marital assets, post-divorce modifications, same-sex partnership dissolutions and divorce, prenuptial agreements, and post-nuptial agreements. She has represented clients and served as mediator in hundreds of cases involving complex legal and emotional issues.
Rachel is listed in the book “Best Lawyers in America” and Boston Magazine’s “Top Women Attorneys in Massachusetts” and has been named a Super Lawyer in the areas of Family Law and Family Law Mediation. Rachel is the immediate-past President of the Massachusetts Collaborative Law Council. She previously served as Clerk, co-chair of the Advanced Training Committee, Nominating Committee chair, and Executive Committee member. Rachel is also a member of the Massachusetts Council on Family Mediation, the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals, and the Greater Boston Family Law Inn of Court. Rachel is a graduate of Suffolk University Law School (J.D. cum laude) and Macalester College (B.A. magna cum laude). She is an AV preeminent rated attorney (Martindale-Hubbell highest rating).
In addition to her law and mediation practice, Rachel frequently teaches and presents to professional groups, law students, college students, and the public about divorce law, collaborative practice and mediation. She was one of the first collaborative attorneys to be trained in Massachusetts and is a leader in the collaborative law community. She is a former faculty member of and was instrumental in designing the Interdisciplinary Collaborative Practice Training currently offered in Massachusetts. She also teaches introductory and advanced mediation courses with the Community Dispute Settlement Center and Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education.
